Peter Weinberger, of counsel at Spangenberg, Shibley & Liber, was featured on RebuttalPR’s Raising the Bar podcast, where he discussed the role of litigation in driving systemic change.
In the episode, Peter reflected on his path to law, from completing his undergraduate psychology degree to his early work in criminal defense. He then talked about how his experience in medical malpractice and product liability cases shaped his understanding of litigation as a tool not only to represent individuals, but to influence broader industry practices. He joined Spangenberg in 1988.
While considering retirement in 2017, Peter was asked to serve as liaison counsel and trial counsel in the opioid litigation in the Northern District of Ohio. He discussed the importance of collaboration among attorneys and firms in these complex cases, as well as the shared goal of holding corporations accountable. The litigation remains ongoing, and Peter continues to serve in this role.
