Faces of the Firm: Ericka Campbell, Paralegal

At Spangenberg, we know that exceptional legal representation starts with an exceptional team. Our experienced, knowledgeable, and caring team are the heart of our firm and bring integrity and dedication to every case.

Through this blog series, we’re proud to introduce the team members who make a difference every day by supporting clients, developing legal strategies, and ensuring every detail is handled with care. These individuals each uphold Spangenberg’s legacy of excellence and commitment to justice.

Today, we’re featuring Ericka Campbell, one of our outstanding Paralegals. Working primarily on mass tort claims, Ericka is central to our success. Learn more about her career, her dedication to our clients, and how she gives back to the Cleveland community.

How long have you been with Spangenberg?

In May 2012, I took what most people would consider a big risk and moved to Cleveland from Toledo for a temporary position with Spangenberg as a mass tort paralegal with the possibility of becoming a permanent employee. A few months after working for the firm, I was hired permanently. Now, I handle most of the mass tort claims that come through Spangenberg and, more recently, I’ve started dabbling in single event cases as well.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

It’s really difficult to choose just one thing about my role that I enjoy most, but the talented team of attorneys and staff that I work with never ceases to amaze me. A lot of people come to our firm due to a tragedy, whether it was an injury from a defective drug or device, medical malpractice, a motor vehicle accident, or something else. We have the privilege of assisting people who are going up against individuals and companies to get the closure they deserve; this is something I’m very proud to be part of. Our team effort makes our firm strong, and we all collaborate to make this well-oiled machine work.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself or a personal interest you enjoy outside of work.

I have an identical twin sister. I believe most people at the firm are aware, but it always seems to shock people when they see us together for the first time.

I am also a huge dog lover and advocate (and lover of all animals in general)! I started volunteering as a dog walker at the Cleveland Animal Protective League in the fall of 2019 and, in 2023, I was named the Cleveland APL’s Volunteer of the Year for volunteering over 300 hours that year!

What are three words you would use to describe your experience working at the firm?

I would describe working at the firm as demanding yet rewarding and also emphasize that each team member feels valued. I think it speaks volumes that we have so many employees at our firm with long tenures.
